SUMMARY:Technology Forum - Beethoven 200
DESCRIPTION:Where Music\, Human Creativity & Artificial Intelligence Meet\n
Can artificial intelligence understand musical interpretation? What makes a
pianist’s expression unique\, and can technology reveal the subtle diffe
rences that transform written notes into living music?\nAs part of “Beeth
oven 200 – Artistic Intelligence\,” the Berliner Klavierfesttage invite
audiences to an extraordinary encounter between classical music\, scientif
ic research\, and technological innovation.\nIn collaboration with Yamaha\,
the Technology Forum will present the first findings of our pioneering AI-
based analysis of Beethoven’s piano sonatas. Drawing on recordings from t
he international academy\, researchers will explore how musical interpretat
ion develops\, how artists shape tempo\, dynamics\, and expression\, and wh
at artificial intelligence can reveal about the individuality of human crea
tivity.\nLectures by leading experts in artificial intelligence\, musicolog
y\, and technology\, followed by an interdisciplinary panel discussion\, wi
ll explore the possibilities and limitations of this emerging relationship
between music and science.\nThe forum culminates in an extraordinary live p
erformance: a duet between a pianist and artificial intelligence. Rather th
an simply reproducing a predetermined part\, the AI listens and responds to
the pianist in real time\, adapting to their tempo\, dynamics\, and musica
l expression. Human and machine become musical partners\, entering into a d
ialogue that challenges our understanding of performance and creativity.\nA
n invitation to discover not only what technology can learn from music\, bu
t what music might discover through technology.\nThe event is open to the p
ublic\, and no ticket is required for admission.
