Beethoven 200 – A Concert Marathon (Piano Sonatas Nos. 1–16)

Beethoven 200 – A Concert Marathon

Part I: Piano Sonatas Nos. 1–16

To commemorate the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death, the Berliner Klavierfesttage present an extraordinary musical undertaking: all 32 piano sonatas performed in chronological order across two monumental concert days, each lasting approximately seven hours, including intermissions.

Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in Beethoven’s musical world and experience the remarkable evolution of his genius, from the brilliance of his early compositions to the profound expression of his final masterpieces. Twenty outstanding pianists from around the world, uniting exceptional young talents with internationally renowned artists and distinguished professors, will bring together generations, musical traditions, and artistic perspectives in a celebration of one of classical music’s greatest legacies.

Part I of this extraordinary marathon presents Beethoven’s first 16 piano sonatas, opening a remarkable journey through the evolution of his musical language.

To allow audiences to experience this musical journey at their own pace, a short interval will follow each sonata, offering the opportunity to enter or leave the concert hall between performances. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the entire marathon or attend individual parts of the programme.

Tickets will be available here on our website from January 1, 2027.
